TWO COMPONENT GUN GRADE POLYSULPHIDE SEALANT
Redoflex GG is a cross linking polysulphide based elastic sealant for vertical and horizontal expan- sion joints. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.
It is used in both vertical and horizontal expansion joints in many types of buildings and civil engineering constructions such as:
Underpasses and tunnels
Precast concrete elements
High and low rise buildings and
Wherever a permanently flexible seal is required

Shelf life :Redoflex GG has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of production, if it is stored in undamaged, original, sealed packaging, and if the storage conditions are met.
Storage conditions : Redoflex GG shall be stored in dry conditions, where it is protect-
ted from direct sunlight and at temperatures between 5oC and 30oC.

Redoflex GG may be applied to joints between 5 and 50 mm wide. Joints which are expected to experience cyclic movements should be designed to an optimum width: depth ratio of 2:1, subject to the overriding recommended minimum sealant depths set out below: 5 mm for metals, glass and other non-porous surfaces; 10 mm for all porous surfaces; 20 mm for trafficked joints and those subject to hydrostatic pressures.
At chamfered elements it shall not fill the chamfer with sealant.

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from any loosely adhering particles.
Check the joints edges for soundness and if found weak cut recess and fill up with suitable repair mortar (Consult Redoflex Technical Department). Correct joint depth can be established by inserting closed cell poly- ethylene backing rod tightly into the joint. When the joints have been filled with fiber filled board, this must be raked back to the required depth. Use bond break- ertape over the backer material. Protect surfaces with masking tape.
Use Primer US60 on glass, ceramics and metals. The one part chemically active clear liquid is to be applied by brush or pad. One thin coat should be applied and allowed to dry for 2 to 5 minutes prior to sealant application
Primer US60: It is a high performance chemically active non-toxic liquid for brush application to prime all concrete, stone, brickwork, timber and unglazed edges of ceramic tiles. Apply one thin coat using a clean, dry brush, ensuring complete coverage. Avoid over priming resulting in an excess of primer in the base of the joint or application beyond faces. The mixed Redoflex GG must be applied when the primer is tack free, that is after the evaporation of the solvent but before the primer film has completely reacted. After 6 hours @ 20oC, or 3 hours @ 35oC the surfaces must be re- primed before applying the sealant.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
Where required, protect the surface with masking tape. To place, load the mixed sealant directly into bulk or caulking gun or using a follower plate loading system. Install the sealant into the joint without trap- ping air with consistent pressure to force the sealant into the joint. Tool-off with a spatula to form slightly concave profile. Remove masking tape.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Clean all tools and application equipment with Redwop Sol2 Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically removed.
The product is packed in a 4 kg tin, containing the base and curing agent, ready to mix in the appropriate ratios. Mix the product thoroughly with a mixing paddle fitted to an electric hand drill not exceeding 500 rpm to avoid entrapping air. Mix for approximate- 5 mixing minutes until a smooth, even consistency is achieved.
Do not use in contact with drinking water or food.
Gun grade Redoflex GG is gun-applied 2 part polysulphide sealant which is used both for hori- zontal and vertical joints. Sealant joint movement should not exceed +/-25 % of the joint width when installed in a width to depth ratio of 2 : 1.
Redoflex GG is chemical resistant (occa- sional spillages) to diluted acids, diluted alkalis, avi- ation fuel, kerosene, lubrification oils, skydrol and white spirit.
Redoflex GG is not chemical resistant to chlorinated solvents, aromatic solvent and diluted oxidizing acids.
Redoflex GG must be fully cured before permanent immersion in water.
Paint compatibility with sealant should be checked prior to painting.

Redoflex GG and Primer US60 have a storage life of 12 months kept in original containers and stored in dry conditions between 5oC and 27oC.

Precautions Health and safety
Redoflex GG and Primer US60 should not come in contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Avoid breathing of vapor. Splashes must be washed off immediately. Wear impervious rubber or PVC gloves and eye protection. Hands should be thoroughly washed with soap and water before eating or smoking. In the case of eye contact seek medical attention immediately.
Redoflex GG curing agent consists of a heavy metal based oxide. Cured sealant should not be burned off due to the generation of toxic fumes. Empty containers must be collected for careful disposal and not left lying.
